South Africans will watch TV live coverage of the fallen South African sport heroes, soccer star Senzo Meyiwa, Olympic athlete Mbulaeni Mulaudzi and light welterweight boxer  Ms. Phindile Mwelase this weekend.

Durban-based Ukhozi FM will be broadcasting live the funeral and proceedings of Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates Captain, Senzo Meyiwa, from 09:30 until 15:00. Furthermore, the station will broadcast the funeral of professional light welterweight boxer Ms. Mwelase.

Tshivenda radio station Phalaphala FM, which is based in Polokwane, will have live crossings to the Venda-born and former Olympic 800m silver medallist, Mr Mulaudzi’s funeral as well as Mr. Meyiwa’s with continuous updates on Ms Mwelase’s funeral.

On television, SABC News will have live crossings from all funerals on its 24-Hour news channel on Dstv channel 404. Our TV and Radio news crew will also cover the funerals.

On Sunday night at 19:00 Carte Blanche on M-Net (DStv 101) will be looking at the shocking murder of the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, with presenter Devi Sankaree Govender reflecting on his life on and off the field.

On Saturday eNCA (DStv 403) will broadcast live the funeral services of Senzo Meyiwa as well as the Olympic silver medalist Mbulaeni Mulaudzi.

Mulaudzi’s funeral service will be broadcast on eNCA on Saturday from 06:00 until 08:00 and Meyiwa’s funeral service coverage will start from 08:00 until 15:00.

ANN7 (DStv 405) will also cover both funerals, with ANN7 telling Channel24 that the news channel will be doing live coverage of both funerals. ANN7 says it will be doing extensive live coverage on Saturday of Senzo’s funeral.
