GOGO Music made it a habit during the last years to start into the new season with a good deed in form of a charity event, which supported different causes so far. As we enjoyed an excellent first season with our monthly label-night at Bar Kitcheners in Johannesburg we host this year together with them and decided to support, in kind cooperation with the Thusanani Foundation, students at Wits.

We will donate the door takings of the night and a share of the bar towards new first year students that will be commencing with their undergraduate studies this year. Proceeds from the fundraising event will be used to provide aid in the form of temporary accommodation and necessities such as food parcels and toiletries to destitute students who may not have received permanent accommodation offers at their time of arrival at Wits University.

Aptly named ‘CORE’, Ralf GUM, Sir LSG and Themba take you monthly to the core of House Music within long DJ sets. A sonic journey created by DJs controlling the energy over several hours, as the purpose is to go back to the roots, when resident DJs used to play for the whole night. The intention is to keep House Music culture in the world’s hotbed for the sound, which is South Africa, alive and growing. This new venture is as well started to add something fresh, exciting and regular to Johannesburg’s nightlife. By presenting CORE, GOGO Music follows a clear path where real music is the focus and celebrates nights with like-minded open-minded people.
