The relationship of Kaizer Chiefs captain, Itumeleng Khune, and TV Sports presenter, Minnie Dlamini, has ended.
Itu and Minnie, who won an award as favourite couple last year, no longer shares his house, and bed gorgeous Minnie. She has moved out of the house in Ruimsig and now lives on her own in North Riding.
The crack in the relationship started showing shortly after headlines about Khune’s attempt to flirt with Bonang Matheba – which angered Bonang’s man, Euphonik.
Minnie vowed: “I’ll stand by my man.” But it seems she’s made a big U-turn since then. Khune is alleged to be a player of note – on and off the field. Insiders close to Minnie said she felt humiliated – and believes Khune cheated on her.
A close friend said was hospitalised two months ago but lied about having chest infection.
“She was admitted for depression, after founding out that Khune was crossing her with a number of girls. Khune didn’t even bother to visit her in hospital. He knew it was his fault,” said the friend.
Sunday Sun source said Minnie gave Khune a chance to change but all he did was tell a different story every time he was caught. It is also believed that Minnie has a problem with Khune’s friend Sjuku. Sjuku allegedly hooks up soccer stars with yellow bone honeys.
“He was kicked out of Khune’s house. Minnie has issue with Khune’s wild partying because he ends up acting stupid. But Khune loves Minnie and brags that he has the best girl,” said the source.
Khune and Minnie put their engagement on hold because Minnie was advised to take things slowly.
Certain people believe that the two might rekindle their love. “Itu has been begging Minnie to forgive him,” said a friend. The friend went on: “Look, they’re still in contact even though Minnie hardly spends time with him.”
Minnie refused to comment and referred all enquiries to her manager; meanwhile, Khune said: “Don’t you have break-ups in your life? I will keep on shining no matter what you write. You must tell the people you work with: le seke la ntlwaela masepa.”
