Radio Stations’ New Year’s Eve charts are controlled by votes from the public. So which song deserves to end 2014 in style – Koze Kuse, Rainbow, Call Out or…?

Here are some of the contenders:

  • Black Motion ft Xoli M – Rainbow

Rainbow is the first single from Black Motion’s latest album Fortune Teller, which was released in October. The song is huge and its popularity is one of the reasons the album has reached gold status in 49 days. No one would argue with the single being selected as one of the contenders to take us into 2015.

  • DJ Merlon ft Mondli Ngcobe – Koze Kuse

Released under M Word Productions in October, the love that South Africans, locally and abroad, have for this song is truly remarkable. The combination of DJ Merlon, whose real name is Sibusiso Mhlongo, and the talented vocalist Mondli Ngcobe has introduced a hit that has turned into a danceable national anthem: Koze Kuse! No matter what happens, whether Koze Kuse is voted song of the year or not, the single’s title is by far the most famous one this year.

DJ Fisherman & NaakMusiQ – Call Out (feat. Dreamteam, Danger & DJ Sk)

Since August, various radio stations across the country have been playing Call Out and it is undoubtably one of the biggest hits of this year’s festive season. If social media hype is to go by, the hit single is in a good position to win song of the year title.

Other songs that have been tipped for the crown include:

  •  Ralf Gum ft Monique Bingham – Pap
  •  DJ Kent ft Ziyon – Your Love
  •  Raps Vhafuwi – Count Your Blessings
