Metro FM Awards nominee, Gino Brown, is one of the South African rising stars whose production skills have traveled as far as West Africa.
After a successful tour in Nigeria, Brown is back with his official third single – Heaven Can Wait – which he wrote and produced, featuring a world-class deep house vocalist Zano.
Excited about his new offering, the Alexandra-born producer, who started his musical career when he was in Grade 9, said the song is based on a young man who dies and goes to heaven but returns to be with the love of his life.
In addition: “The song is infused with hints of R&B and soul and the catchy hook, warm and expressive lyrics are set to evoke some emotions. Its groovy beat promises to get your feet moving,” said the 27-year-old producer of Body Language hit single.
The Voice of SA (Tvosa) chats to Brown about the song that has already been playlisted in various radio stations across Africa.
Tvosa: How is the feedback?
GB: The song is being received very well considering it has only been a few weeks since its release.
Tvosa: What made Zano the perfect choice for the song?
GB: Well Zano is a talented and versatile vocalist. He’s done so we’ll for himself in the industry. I knew without a doubt he’d do justice to the song. He has the texture I was looking for. When I write a song I know exactly the type of singer I want. I knew Zano would be great.
Tvosa: How was it like working with Zano?
GB: Oh Zano is such a humble person. I’m extremely honored to have worked with him. He added his touch to the song and I was wowed!!! Zano has worked with legends black coffee and the layabouts so to have him work on a song that I wrote is just an honour and a blessing from God!
Tvosa: Where can people listen purchase the song?
GB: the song is going to be on iTunes soon but for now people can listen to it on sound cloud
