AFRICA NEWS NETWORK revealed a blockbuster addition to an already hot line-up for this year’s annual South African of the Year Awards 2015 taking place on the 17 October 2015 at the Ticket Pro Dome, Johannesburg. US Pop singer, songwriter and dancerJason Derulo will be performing at the highly anticipated ANN7 South African of the Year 2015 Awards.

The current pop superstar Jason Derulo received world acclaim for his singles “Wiggle“, “Talk Dirty“, “In My Head“, “Whatcha Say” and “Want to Want Me“. He released his fourth chart topping studio album, ‘Everything Is 4’ in June. Since the start of his musical career as a solo recording artist in 2009, Jason has sold over 50 million singles and has achieved ten career platinum singles.

Derulo will perform alongside another highly acclaimed international star, who will be revealed at a later stage by the channel and a host of local South African artists like AKA, The Soil & ChianoSky. The SATY 2015 event will be attended by various international guests and South Africa’s who’s who.

The awards will mark the second anniversary of 24-hour TV news channel Africa News Network ANN7. This follows the exceptional success of first SATY awards and gala event held in September last year. In the second edition of the pioneering initiative, the channel will once again celebrate the extraordinary aspects of our beautiful country and its rich multi-cultural heritage.

The channel leadership has resolved to make the 2nd edition of the SATY 2015 awards an extravaganza to surpass all others. Last year’s SATY awards and event garnered many accolades for its precision, providing complete information about the process of nomination and selection of the final winners.

The proposed award categories this year include entertainment, sport, business, entrepreneurship, spirit of humanity, youth and South African of the Year Award.

As a build up to the prestigious SATY awards ceremony, the ‘I am South African’ show will air Mondays to Saturdays with a total of 83 episodes profiling SA leading artists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, politicians and athletes as they share their unique stories with the rest of South Africa.  The show is hosted by model, TV presenter, actor, Masego “Maps” Maponyane. Weekdays 6pm.
