Award-winning AKA’s announcement of firing his long-term DJ and best friend Thabiso Maphutso, aka DJ Fanatic, fueled further speculation related to his biggest rival – Cassper Nyovest!
The Cape Town-born rapper and Feather Awards Drama Queen of the Year nominee – whose real name is Kiernan Jordan Forbes, 26 – was in the “rubbish” mood when he broke the news to his 372K Twitter followers: “Rubbish sound. Rubbish crowd. All rubbish everything.”
Unclear what ‘All rubbish everything’ was about, the Run Jozi hitmaker revealed: “Just had to fire my DJ and best friend.”
Many fans were speculating about why Thabiso was fired and some claimed it was because AKA was upset after the DJ played Phumakim by Cassper Nyovest.
The sacking of DJ Fanatic was not the only breaking news, AKA also announced on Twitter that he is looking for a new DJ.
He wrote: “If you know anyone in the JHB area who you think would be a great fit as my DJ, let them know we having auditions this coming week.”
