It’s been two weeks since Kwaito King Arthur Mafokate and Afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo launched their new song, Nguwe Lo, on SABC1 popular music show Live Amp; however, it may take longer than anticipated for fans to get their hands on it.
According to Sunday Sun, Universal Music bosses allegedly won’t give blessing to the much talked about single because they don’t like the idea of Kelly teaming up with the 999 Music founder.
The shocked and saddened Oyi-Oyi hitmaker believes he collaborated with Itshitshi singer when she was a free agent, before Universal Music signed the mother of two.
“We recorded the song and even took pictures to go with the marketing of the single. But then I got the shock of my life when I heard that Universal Music won’t release the song. I’m saddened by the news,” says Mafokate.
Arthur continues: “I really don’t know what’s going on. At the time we recorded the song, Kelly wasn’t signed to anyone. She told me she was independent. All that was left for us was to shoot a music video for the song.”
