Soul singer Lulu Dikana, the older sister of X Factor judge and songstress Zonke Dikana, has passed away last night after a short illness.
The soulful jazz singer had recently launched her new album ‘I Came to Love’ and was currently in the process of promoting it with various shows.
She also opened the Joburg shows for US R&B singer John Legend during his ‘All of me’ tour.
Dikana, who was scheduled to perform at Skyroomlive in Braamfontein on 5 December, was forced to cancel her show after falling ill.
The loss of Lulu comes after the two siblings lost their older sister Busisiwe Dikana last year in May.
Their father Vuyisile ‘Viva” Dikana, who was a respected jazz drummer died in 2009.
Lulu’s record label Sony Music Africa released a statement this afternoon.
