Veteran kwaito, hip hop and R&B star Ishmael Morabe has returned to Arthur Mafokate’s 999 Music, the record label which produced the popular song Roba Letheka in 2001.
The musician, who started his music career in the early 90s, parted ways with kwaito king Mafokate’s label in 2010 complaining of “favouritism, exploitation and being ill-treated.”
But that is in the past for former award-winning Jozi group member nicknamed ‘Ish’, who recently left another recording label, Ghetto Ruff, after he had a fallout with its boss, Lance Stehr.
Speaking to Sunday tabloids, the Roba Letheka hitmaker confirmed his reunion with Mafokate. “I knew that Arthur is the right person who can do that for me,” he said.
Mafokate also confirmed Morabe’s return and said they had started work on his new album, to be released in December.
“He approached me and said he wants us to together again. I welcomed him back,” said 999 Music boss.
