It is official. Nkosinathi Maphumulo, aka DJ Black Coffee, is rated amongst the best DJs in the world.
This comes after the DJ, who recently released a new album Pieces of Me, was crowned the ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’ at the DJ Awards‚ held in Ibiza.
The awards were launched in 1998 and span different genres‚ from techno to bass to deep house.
South Africa also received a special award as ‘Dance Nation of the Year’.
Taking to Facebook overnight, the thrilled DJ posted about his individual award: “It’s in the bag!! Thank you for your best wishes and love. #DJAwards #SouthAfricaStandUp”.
When South Africans got a special nod, Black Coffee shared: “OK there’s a second one!!!!! For South Africa.. Dance Nation Of The Year.
“With our turbulent past, this is where we are today. #WeDanceAgainChallenge proves how amazing we are.
“We deserve to give ourselves a pat on the back for this one. I believe the more we dance together, the better we will become.
“I’m so honoured right now and so proud to be South African!!! #blessed.”
