It has only been on TV for a few months, but Uzalo has won hearts of million South Africans.
According to TVSA, Uzalo – the SABC telenovela that tells a story of two affluent families in the township of Kwa-Mashu: the Mdletshe family which presides over the Kwamashu Kingdom Church and the Xulu family that runs a car theft syndicate – has officially replaced Generations as the most watched TV show in the country.
The shift and change happened in the week of 8 to 14 June when Uzalo ranked in the numbers by outperforming Generations on two nights of the week: on Tuesday, 9th and Wednesday, 10th June.
